Arcane Ranger Skills

Inherent Skills:
Dependent Range Inherent Active
The range values on all of the Arcane Ranger’s Active - Offensive skills are determined by their bow’s range values.

Kneeling Stance Inherent Active
The Arcane Ranger can use a Quick Action to enter a Kneeling Stance. While in the Kneeling Stance, the Arcane Ranger cannot move, and entering or exiting the stance while there is an adjacent enemy invokes an Attack of Opportunity. While in the Kneeling Stance, the Arcane Ranger may perform two attacks during their Main Action in the combination of Normal Attacks and Single Target Active - Offensive skills so long as each attack targets a different unit within a 90 degree cone. If the Arcane Ranger has been in a Kneeling Stance since their last turn, increase their damage by 1, up to a maximum of 5.

Treetop Sniper Inherent Passive
The Arcane Ranger's Movement Speed is unhindered while climbing to a higher or lower elevation. As long as you are attacking a unit that is at a lower elevation than you, you roll to hit with Advantage.

Basic Skills:
Anchored Lifeline Basic Active - Defensive
Shoot an arrow that anchors itself to the ground which you can teleport to safety to.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Target Location, Special - Interrupt

Cool Down Category: A / B
Effect: Shoot an anchor at a target location which lasts indefinitely at the cost of 1 FP per round. You may have up to 3 anchors out at once, but you must pay 1 FP per anchor. If you are within 100’ of an anchor, you may reactivate this skill at any time for 6 FP to immediately teleport to that anchor and dispel all active anchors. You may dispel your anchors at any time. If you dispelled your last anchor, this skill’s Cool Down Category is A. If you teleported to an anchor, this skill’s Cool Down Category is B.

Chaining Shot Basic Active - Offensive
Shoot an arrow made from your flow that bounces up to twice.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Single Target, Impact Line

Combat Effects: Deals 1d6 + MDMG magical Lightning damage. Choose a secondary target within 15’ of your primary target to deal damage to. Choose a tertiary target within 15’ of your secondary target to deal damage to. The secondary and tertiary targets take half damage. Chaining Shot automatically hits the secondary and tertiary targets so long as the primary target is hit. If another unit is in direct physical contact of the target and the attack hits, then that unit must perform a Vitality check. If they roll a 12 or higher, they pass and only take half damage from the attack. If they fail, they take full damage.

Covert Movement Basic Active - Buff
Increases your evasion for a period of time, but lowers your movement speed as well.
Attack Type: None Property: Target User
FP Cost: 2 FP per round active
Cool Down Category: None
Combat Effects: Physical Evasion +3, Magic Evasion +3. Your Movement Speed is halved. This skill deactivates if you perform a Normal Attack or Active - Offensive skill. You may use this skill at the beginning of your turn before performing any actions.
Other Effects: You become completely invisible while in the shadows, and you do not make any noise while moving.

Ignition Arrow Basic Active - Offensive
Shoot a flaming arrow that leaves behind an explosive on its victim.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Single Target, Impact Line
FP Cost: 2 FP Range: Weapon Dependent
Cool Down Category: None
Combat Effects: Deals 1d4 + MDMG magical Fire damage. At the beginning of your next turn, the arrow detonates, dealing 1d4 + MDMG damage to the target and all units within 5’ of it.
Other Effects: The explosion is capable of destroying wooden objects.

Shock Net Basic Active - Offensive
Shoot a large electrified net into the air to cover your foes.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Ground-Targeted AoE
FP Cost: 3 FP Range: Weapon Dependent
Cool Down Category: B
Combat Effects: Creates a 25’x25’ net over an area which deals 1d10 + MDMG magical Lightning damage to all units within affected area. All hit units are now Floored.

Spectral Hawk Basic Active - Defensive
Shoot a spectral hawk a set distance that can pass through solid objects to reveal an area to you through a mental image.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Ground-Targeted AoE
FP Cost: 2 FP Range: Weapon Dependent
Cool Down Category: A
Effect: Reveals a circular area with a 20' radius to you. You do not require a Line of Sight to the area you want to reveal. The hawk is invisible to everyone but you.

Advanced Skills:
Flow Rain Advanced Active - Offensive
Fire a volley of flow arrows that rain down from the above, damaging all units in an area.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Ground-Targeted AoE
FP Cost: 5 Range: Weapon Dependent
Cool Down Category: None
Combat Effects: Deals 2d6 + MDMG magical Water damage to all units in a circular area with a 15’ radius.
Other Effects: This skill turns the affected area into Muddy Terrain. This skill is capable of destroying wooden objects.

Frost Arrow Advanced Active - Offensive
Shoot an arrow that immediately freezes an enemy.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Single Target, Impact Line
FP Cost: 5 Range: Weapon Dependent
Cool Down Category: B
Combat Effects: Deals 2d8 + MDMG magical Water damage. The target becomes Defenseless for 1d6 rounds (max. 4). The target can perform a Strength check to try to break free from the ice and succeeds on a roll of 12 or higher. Once the target takes damage, they are no longer frozen in ice and are no longer Defenseless.
Other Effects: Frost Arrow can be shot into a body of water to freeze it. Any units caught in the water are automatically hit, but only take half damage and do not suffer from Defenseless. Frost Arrow can also freeze an object to reduce its structural integrity. Wooden objects can be broken with ease, stone objects can be broken with skills that can destroy wooden objects, and metal objects can be broken with skills that can destroy stone objects.

Lightning Streak Advanced Active - Offensive
Shoot a streak of lightning that damages everything it passes through.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Single Target, Pass-Through Line AoE
FP Cost: 5 Range: Weapon Dependent
Cool Down Category: A
Combat Effects: Deals 2d8 + MDMG magical Lightning damage to all units in a straight line up to the intended target. Roll 1d6 for each hit unit. On a result of 3-6, those targets are now Staggered. If another unit is in direct physical contact of the target and the attack hits, then that unit must perform a Vitality check. If they roll a 12 or higher, they pass and only take half damage from the attack. If they fail, they take full damage and have a chance to Stagger.
Other Effects: Lightning Streak is capable of setting very dry combustible objects on fire. This skill can be used on a small body of water. If there are any characters in the body of water, this attack cannot be evaded, but they only take half damage. They still, however, have a chance to Stagger.

Phantasmal Doppelganger Advanced Active - Summon
Create an illusion of yourself to copy your movements and attack with you.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Summon
FP Cost: 8 FP Range: None
Summon Duration: 3 rounds Cool Down Category: C
Effect: Repeat all actions made during your turn for the Phantasmal Doppelganger. The illusion cannot be attacked. FP consumption is increased by 2 while this skill is active.
Other Effects: Instead of copying movements and attacks, the Phantasmal Doppelganger may be commanded to move on its own and relay any information gathered once dispelled.

Shotgun Arrow Advanced Active - Offensive
Shoot an arrow that explodes apart upon impact.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Single Target, Impact Line, Cone AoE
FP Cost: 5 FP Range: Weapon Dependent
Cool Down Category: A
Combat Effects: Deals 3d6 + MDMG magical Fire damage. Shotgun Arrow explodes on impact, creating a 90 degree cone with a range of 20' on the opposite side the unit was hit from. All units caught in that area are automatically hit and take half damage from the attack.

Strafe Fire Advanced Active - Buff
You gain the ability to move and attack at the same time.

Combat Effects: During the turn this skill is used, you may move your entire Movement Speed during your Move Phase and still perform a Main Action, ignore Deadlock while doing so, and perform up to 3 Normal Attacks in a single Main Action.

Target Acquired Advanced Passive
At the beginning of a battle, choose a unit. For the rest of the battle, all of your Normal Attacks and Single Target Active - Offensive skills roll an extra damage die and Ignore Defense when targeting the chosen unit. Attacks that would already Ignore Defense roll an extra damage die. If you deal the killing blow to the unit, you may choose a new target. Single Target skills that are also Pass-through Line AoE skills only gain those bonuses against the chosen unit.

Daily Skills:
Sanguine Leviathan Daily Active - Offensive
Shoot a leviathan of blood at your target, dealing massive damage to the target and everything in between.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Single Target, Pass-Through Line AoE
FP Cost: None Range: Weapon Dependent
Cool Down Category: D
Combat Effects: Deals 3d10 + 20 + MDMG magical Water damage to all units in a straight line with a width of 5’ up to the intended target of the attack. If Sanguine Leviathan deals the killing blow to the unit chosen for Target Acquired, increase your damage by 10 and delay the amount of fatigue you receive for performing a Daily skill until the next time you sleep or become Incapacitated.
Overflow Bonus: 10 HP cost - Damage +3d10. Sanguine Leviathan Ignores Defense. Width increased to 15’. Ignores elemental resistances and immunities. If Sanguine Leviathan deals the killing blow to the unit chosen for Target Acquired, increase your damage by 20 instead of 10.
Other Effects: Regular attack is capable of destroying wooden objects. Overflowed attack is capable of destroying stone objects.

Tempest Volley Daily Active - Offensive
Gather your flow to unleash a devastating stream of arrows at a target.
Attack Type: Magical Property: Single Target, Impact Line
FP Cost: 4 FP Range: Weapon Dependent
Cool Down Category: D
Combat Effects: Deals 2d6 + MDMG magical damage. You may perform this skill as many times as you have FP available in the same Main Action at no additional Fatigue cost. All uses of this skill must target the same unit.
Overflow Bonus: 4 HP cost per attack - Damage +2d6
