Dark (Ja)

1st Tier Invocations:
Ja Darma (Dark Armor)
Incantation: Darkness formed from nothing. Darker than the abyss. Grant me your power and shroud me in your protection.
Fatigue Gained: 4 on activation and 4 per minute active
Effect: This invocation cannot be Short Casted. Upon activating this invocation, you must pass a Charisma check of 9 or higher. If you pass, the invocation succeeds, and your body becomes shrouded in black armor that makes you immune to the Dark element and increases your Physical Evasion and Magic Evasion by 3 for the duration of the spell. If you fail, the invocation backfires, any armor you were wearing is destroyed, and you gain a weakness to the Dark element for the next 60 seconds.
Description: Of all the dark invocations that can backfire, La Darma was considered the least punishing by a longshot. Many individuals who used it would wear no armor to begin with, and they would run and hide for a minute if it backfired.

Ja Darwa (Dark Weapon)
Incantation: Darkness formed from nothing. Darker than the abyss. Grant me your power and take form in my hand.
Fatigue Gained: 4 on activation and 4 per minute active
Effect: This invocation cannot be Short Casted. Creates any weapon out of darkness. This weapon, for all intents and purposes, is indestructible for the duration of the spell, is imbued with the Dark element, and has the same stats as its most basic form (e.g. a steel katana).
Description: This spell was originally created to make weapons of all sorts, but as the times moved forward, this spell was used to create weapons for any one of the main classes. It’s also most notable for being the only dark invocation that cannot backfire on its user.

Ja Flasdel (Eldritch Fire)
Incantation: O great dragon of the Depths. He whose body glitters across the night sky. I call upon your power. Burn my foes into oblivion.
Fatigue Gained: 6
Effect: This invocation cannot be Short Casted. Upon activating this invocation, you must pass a Charisma check of 9 or higher. If you pass, the invocation succeeds, and you shoot a stream of eldritch fire from your hand that deals 4d6 + 16 Dark damage to all units in a 30’ 90-degree cone. All hit units are inflicted with the Eldritch Burning condition for 5 rounds. Units affected by Eldritch Burning lose 2d8 HP each round. Eldritch Burning cannot be removed by effects that can remove Burning. Hit units may attempt to pass a Vitality check of 14 or higher to take half damage from the attack. If you fail, the invocation backfires, and you are inflicted with Eldritch Burning for 5 rounds.
Description: In ancient times, many felt the risks of casting Ja Flasdel couldn’t come close to how powerful of a spell it is for nearly anyone to use. However, many have also historically died from the spell backfiring and being too weak to withstand the consequences.

2nd Tier Invocations:
KaiJa Krut (Wither)
Incantation: O great dragon of the Depths. He whose body glitters across the night sky. I call upon your power. Touch my foes with unending corruption.
Fatigue Gained: 40
Effect: This invocation cannot be Short Casted. Upon activating this invocation, you must pass a Charisma check of 11 or higher. If you pass, the invocation succeeds and the intended target of the invocation within 80’ is inflicted with a curse that causes the target to lose 1 HP, 1 FP, 1 Physical Damage, 1 Magic Damage, 1 Accuracy, 1 Physical Evasion, 1 Magic Evasion, and 10’ Movement Speed every 10 seconds for the next hour. If you fail, the invocation backfires, and instead you are the one who is inflicted with the curse for 30 minutes. This invocation does not affect celestial beings of great power, such as a deity.
Description: KaiJa Krut was a curse invocation that was not painful at all, but could cause a person to die from a feeling of extreme weakness. Since the curse has no visual indication of actually being inflicted, a victim could slowly die over the course of an hour without knowing it. It is extremely difficult to counteract since there’s no way to pass it, but it is possible to use enough healing magic or potions to live through it.

KaiJa Tortrae (Torturing Shadow)
1st round Incantation: O great dragon of the Depths. Darkness formed from nothing. Darker than the abyss. He whose body glitters across the night sky.
2nd round Incantation: I call upon your power. With me, your darkness shall ever spread. Let us remind those who stand in our way that all life will die.
Fatigue Gained: 40
Effect: This invocation cannot be Short Casted. Upon activating this invocation, you must pass a Charisma check of 11 or higher. If you pass, the invocation succeeds and the intended target of the invocation within 80’ becomes inflicted with a curse that causes the target to lose 2d8 HP every 10 seconds until death. It is an agonizing curse that causes most victims to become hysteric before their untimely death. If you fail, the invocation backfires, and you experience an immobilizing heart pain for the next 24 hours. However, you will not die from it. The only way to remove the curse is by spilling your blood on another living animal, either intentionally or unintentionally, which would pass the curse to them instead. This invocation does not affect celestial beings of great power, such as a deity, or creatures with a Dark resistance or immunity.
Description: KaiJa Tortrae was a cruel curse invocation that was used when individuals wanted their enemies to suffer to death. Being afflicted with this curse without knowing how to pass it on means sure death. Most individuals who did know would try to pass it on to a rat or other small animals, so another person would not die in their stead.

3rd Tier Invocations:
VaeJa Crux (Kill)
1st round Incantation: O great entity born of darkness. Darker than the abyss. He whose body glitters across the night sky. Dragon of all dragons. Tragedy of all tragedies.
2nd round Incantation: I call upon the first evil of the Vast. I beg you for the strength my dark soul craves, and pledge myself to thee.
3rd round Incantation: Grant me your darkest power, and we shall be victorious. Let those foolish enough to stand before us be erased from existence.
Fatigue Gained: 100
Effect: This invocation cannot be Short Casted. Your HP must be above half of its maximum in order to cast this invocation. Falling below half health before completing the incantation will cancel the invocation. Upon activating the invocation, you must pass a Charisma check of 13 or higher. If you pass, the invocation succeeds and the intended target of the invocation within 200’ instantly dies from being engulfed in excruciatingly painful black flames and is reduced to nothing. If you fail, the invocation backfires, your HP is reduced to 1, and you become unable to move your body for the next 24 hours. If you Critically Miss, in addition to the result of failing, a random target within range, including you, is instantly killed instead of the intended target. This invocation does not affect celestial beings of great power, such as a deity.
Description: VaeJa Crux is the most powerful and taboo of all dark invocations. Merely uttering its words fills those who know its incantation with utmost fear. Even the highest of authorities may flee from hearing its incantation. The misuse of this spell is punishable by public execution.
